Eleanor Richard Lee AndersonEleanor Richard Lee Anderson was born on March 9, 1922 to Alfred Richard and Delis Richard in Coon, Louisiana. She departed this life on April 2, 2017 at Rapides Regional Hospital.She accepted Christ at the age of twelve and was baptized. She served several church during her Christian journey to include: Magnolia Baptist Church, Second Evergreen Baptist Church, Antioch Baptist Church for over 40 years and Rose of Sharon Baptist Church where her Christian journey ended under the leadership of Pastor Larry D. Smith, whom she loved dearly. She was always working for the Lord and enjoyed serving in numerous capacities of the church to include: Sunday School Teacher/Member, Choir Member (president at one time), Deaconess, Day Camp, over Kitchen Duties of which she was proud of and a great cook, Mission Departments, League of Women and anything else that she could help with for the glory of the Lord.She was educated in Rapides Parish and very active in the Order of Eastern Stars, a member of Zion #12 of Alexandria, Louisiana. She was Queen of the South in April 1975 and was the Grand Matron of the Eastern Stars. The city Baton Rouge, Louisiana Senate proclaimed her as an Honorary State Senator June of 1987. She had the honor of praying on the United States Capital during President's Clinton Administration.She worked for several Domestic clients, Cafeterias (Walgreens), and Hotel Bentley before retiring for Brame Jr. High School in 1981 after 21 years of service.She was preceded in death by her parents, 10 siblings, 2 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, her husband, Henderson J. Anderson, Sr., whom she married September 11, 2004 and many of relatives.She is survived by two daughters: Eola Harvey of Chicago, Ill and Shirley Ford of Los Angeles, CA, one sister Beulia Gills of Los Angeles, CA, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grand children, and 18 great-great grandchildren, blended family, Henderson Anderson, Jr. (Barbara), Quartz, Hill, CA, Linda A. King, Theodore, Newell, Sr. and Irma Jean Harvey Patterson, all of Alexandria, LA, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends along with the Rose of Sharon Church Family; thanks for all the kindness you shared.A celebration of life will be held on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church, 1401 10th Street, Alexandria, LA 71301 with Rev. Larry Smith officiating. Viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until the start of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in the Greenwood Memorial Park-Pinevile, LA immediately following the service.
