Do not stare at my ashes and weep,
For I am not there, I am not asleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond's glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in a morning hush
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in a circling flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night
Do not stare at my ashes and weep.
I am not there, I am not asleep.
Do not stare at my ashes & cry.
I am not there, I did not die!
I will always be with you,
right by your side.
