Ledwith, Elisabeth P. "Betty"Elisabeth P. "Betty" Ledwith, 87, of West Bend, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk. Betty was born on October 1, 1929, in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late John and Lillian (Schnell) Potts. On August 26, 1950, she was united in marriage to Robert Ledwith in Whitefish Bay. Bob preceded Betty in death on March 10, 2013.After graduating from Whitefish Bay High School, Betty continued her education at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. It was there where she met her husband-to-be, Bob, an aspiring law student. Betty lived her life primarily as a homemaker, and her focus was always on providing comfort and support for her husband, her three children and their families, and her parents, especially in their final years. She was a long-time member of the Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, and was very active with the PEO Sisterhood, an organization of which she was a member for over 50 years. Betty truly had a heart to serve, volunteering often and helping friends in need. When not giving support in some capacity, she loved to read, travel, and enjoyed gardening and bird watching. Betty also was an avid Packer fan.Those Betty leaves behind to cherish her memory include a daughter, Barbara (Steve) Prust of West Bend; son, Jim (Carol) Ledwith of Oshkosh; son-in-law, Dennis Smith of Audubon, IA; four grandchildren, John (Lauren) Prust of San Marcos, CA, Jenna (Adam) Glorioso of Appleton, Greg (Amanda) Smith of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Lyndi (Chris) Bieber of Anamosa, IA; two step-grandchildren, Nicole (Mark) Binder of Omro, and Chad (Christin) Gunther of Oshkosh; six great-grandchildren, Gavin and Ella Smith of Cedar Rapids, IA, Eli and Carissa Binder of Omro, Liliana Glorioso of Appleton and William Gunther of Oshkosh; other relatives and friends.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Smith.Funeral services for Betty will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, 323 S. Fifth Avenue, in West Bend. Betty's family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
