Elizabeth "Betty" A. Lawson, of Dover, passed away peacefully on Monday Oct. 17, 2016. She was 85. Mrs. Lawson was born on March 9, 1931 in Boston, Mass. to the late Alfred A. Brandli and Elizabeth M. Brandli (nee Nelson).She was a retired DOD civil servant from nearby Dover AFB, military wife and homemaker. Mrs. Lawson enjoyed traveling with her husband, spending time with her friends, knitting and was an avid reader, reading a book a week. She was a member of the Dover
Elks Lodge and was a volunteer at the Dover Air Force Base MAC terminal. Mrs. Lawson loved her cats and made sure the neighborhood's homeless cats were well fed and taken care of as well.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, retired USAF SMSgt William C. Lawson of Orange, Mass. She is survived by her sons, Christopher Lawson and his wife Kimberly Yen, currently serving as foreign service officers at the U.S. Embassy in Taipei; Bradley Lawson and his wife Elaine of Franklinton, N.C.; and grandchildren, triplets, Eric, Heather and Kyle Lawson; and Tristan and Megan Lawson.A memorial service will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016 at the Elks Lodge, 200 S. Salisbury Road, Dover. Interment will be 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 31, 2016 at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
