Elizabeth Muldoon (née Salmon) 69, of Wardley, England, passed on August 01, 2023.
Elizabeth was born on August 7th, 1953 in Salford to Jessie and John Salmon. The first of 4 children, it wasn't long before her siblings Dorothy, Margaret and John arrived.
Elizabeth attended Marlborough Road Primary School, in Higher Broughton. In 1962, Elizabeth's family left Salford for a new house in Little Hulton. She attended Hilton Lane Primary, then Hulton High School.
After leaving school, Elizabeth began working for the Co-op Travel company in Manchester, followed by Albany Travel on Deansgate.
In 1974 Elizabeth met her future husband Paul at the Wishing Well club in Swinton on a night out for her friends 21st birthday. On March 10th 1979 they were married at St. Charles Church in Swinton.
Elizabeth's first child, Stephen Andrew, was born in November 1982. In June 1984, her second child Claire Elizabeth (Gionnette) arrived. In December 1986, her third and final baby Robert arrived, completing the family.
Elizabeth went back to work part time as a Personal Assistant and built a 30 year career before she retired in 2016.
Elizabeth excelled in languages, in particular French and Spanish. She was a lover of Les Miserables, Brideshead Revisited, the "Carry On" films, Fawlty Towers, Monty Python, Absolutely Fabulous, and of course Coronation Street.
Elizabeth and Paul travelled extensively. Before children, they would enjoy holidays in Barbados, Spain, Ireland, Germany, and the Swiss Alps. After kids, most often to France, Cornwall, Scotland, Greece, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, California, Las Vegas, Florida, Portugal, the Canary Islands, the Balearic Islands, Kenya, Egypt, Cape Verde, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Cyprus and Italy.
Elizabeth lived for steak. Medium rare cooked, with potato dauphinoise and thick cut chips. Always served with French red wine.
Elizabeth was a fun lady and loved to laugh and brightened up any room with her unique laughter. She was sharp, quick witted and had a dry sense of humour. She would never be out-smarted!
She will be missed immensely by her husband of 44 years Paul, and her three children Stephen and his wife Clara, Claire and her husband Andrew, and Robert. Also her four grandchildren Luca, Marco, Zoe and Agatha. She will be missed also by dozens of family members including her sisters Dorothy and Maggie, her countless brothers and sisters-in-law including David, Mary, Julia, Anne S, Anne M, Mark, Mags, Graham, Peter, Bill and her nieces and nephews Raymond, Andrew, Rachel, Julia, Shaun, Joseph, Matthew, Elaine, John, Catherine, David, Anthony, Kathryn, Chantelle, Becky, and James and all of their children.
Rest in Peace, Mum, the gentlest lady we ever knew! Thank you for being our Mum. We will love you forever!
