Balthazor, Elizabeth "Betty"Age 77, of Manawa, formerly of New London, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Rennes Care Center in Appleton, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on October 12, 1939 in New London, daughter of the late Alton and Bernice (O'Brien) Hutchison. On June 2, 1973, she united in marriage to Norman Balthazor. He preceded her in death in 2009. Betty was a substitute teacher in the area school districts for almost 30 years. She enjoyed playing cards, puzzles, gardening, cooking, and walks with her dog Happy. She especially enjoyed spending time with her sisters and her grandchildren. Betty was a very giving person. She was a member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, where she volunteered at the church rummage sale. She also enjoyed volunteering at the local food pantry.She is survived by her children: Dan (Tammy) LaMarche, Laurie (Don) Carlton, Jan (Mike) Russert, Sarah (Mark) Sickinger, Beth Ombati, Jill Balthazor, and Nathan (Katie) Balthazor; grandchildren: Davis, Marcus, Sawyer, Olivia, Elizabeth, Everett, Ethan, Davina, Kendra, Sarena, Maya, Raelyn, Bryce and Madeline; siblings: Margaret Hutchison, Tom Hutchison, Mary (Ray) LeBrun, Bill (Darlene) Hutchison, Judy (Bob) Fischer, Nancy Schlafer, Dave (Kathy) Hutchison. She is further survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Roberta (Jim) Prunty; sister-in-law Marian Hutchison; and a brother-in-law Frank Schlafer.The Funeral Mass for Betty will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London with Fr. John Kleinschmidt officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. A visitation for Betty will be held at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London on Friday from 4-7 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.A special thanks to the staff at Rennes Health Care Center and Heartland Hospice for their care and concern of Betty.
