Drea , Elizabeth "Betty" (Lozier)Elizabeth "Betty" (Lozier) Drea of Harrisburg, NC was lifted to heaven in the arms of the angels on Wednesday, October 26, 2016. Betty was born on August 16, 1947 and was a 1965 graduate of Vestal Central High School as well as a graduate of Broome Community College and UNC-Charlotte. She was retired from IBM having worked in Endicott/Owego, Tampa and Charlotte.She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Michael Drea (Harrisburg); daughter, Anne Drea Duncan, (Harrisburg); son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Sandy Drea (Coto de Caza, CA); father, William Lozier (Concord, NC); sister, Jane Lozier (Harrisburg); grandchildren, Jamie, Tyler and Taryn Duncan, (Charlotte), Kayleigh and Davin Drea (Coto de Caza) and several nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her mother, Shirley Lozier.Betty's love for standard poodles extended from breeding and raising her furry companions - Ellie, Conor, Reagan, Laci and Peyton, to being active for several years in the Charlotte Poodle Club.The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Michael Grunwald, the hematologic/bone marrow transplant team and MICU staff at Levine Cancer Institute/Carolina Medical Center for the loving care they gave to Betty during her courageous battle against Acute Myeloid Leukemia.Betty was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1400 Suther Rd., Charlotte, at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 4, 2016. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Betty's memory to Levine Cancer Institute "Carolinas Hematology Research Fund", c/o Carolina Healthcare Foundation, 1221 E.
