Elizabeth "Liz" HuvalLAFAYETTE - Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette for Elizabeth "Liz" Guidry Huval, age 60, who died at 6:10 AM on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at her residence in Lafayette. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia, Louisiana. Bishop Glen John Provost will be the Celebrant. Con Celebrants will be Very Reverend Chester C. Arceneaux VF, Reverend Gary Schexnayder, Reverend Michael Finnley, and Reverend Bill Ruskoski.Survivors include her husband, J. Hansel Huval, Jr. and daughter, Hannah Elizabeth Huval; her mother, Sophie T. Guidry; two sisters, Jennifer G. Thomas and husband Paul, and Jacqueline Dauphine and husband Donald, and one brother, Robert Keith Guidry and his wife Tina. She also leaves behind her beloved pet dachshund, Belle Huval.She was preceded in death by her father, Sidney O. Guidry.Liz, native of Lafayette, Louisiana and long time resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, was born on June 2, 1957. As a devout Catholic and member of the Cathedral of St. John, she evangelized her devotion to The Blessed Mother by hosting frequent rosary gatherings. Liz was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend who will be missed by all. Pallbearers will be Liz Anthony, Cabrina Benoit, Elizabeth Broussard, Patty Farkas, Wendy Lane, Terry Lister, Suzi Santillo, and Anita Wimberley. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location on Thursday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of service. A Rosary will be led by Mary Margaret Comeaux Thursday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
