Michaels, Elizabeth "Betty" J.Elizabeth "Betty" J. Michaels, age 89, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Libby's House in Chilton, WI.Betty was born on July 12, 1926 at home on the farm in Norman, WI, daughter of the late Jacob and Frances (Konop) Schleis. She was a graduate of Kewaunee High School with the class of 1942. Betty also graduate from Normal Teaching School in Algoma. On June 21, 1947 she married Virgil J. Michaels at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Norman, WI. Betty's primary focus in life was her family. Betty and Virgil were members of the St. Francis of Assisi Third Order. They also were members of the Holy Adoration Society at St. Paul Catholic Church for many years. Betty was also a Eucharist Minister at St. Paul Catholic Church and distributed Holy Communion to patients at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center. They were also World Book Encyclopedia Sales Representatives. Survivors include her husband: Virgil Michaels, Chilton, WI; nine children and their spouses: Jane and George Starks, Anacortes, WA, Peggy and Robert Duckart, Grafton, WI, Bill and Arlene Michaels, Madison, WI, John and Patty Michaels, Manitowoc, James Michaels, Loveland, Co, Annette and John Morgen, Delafield, WI, Stephen and Mary Michaels, Sacramento, CA, Fran and Barb Michaels, DePere, WI, Thomas and Amy Michaels, Menasha, WI; 31 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; one sister: Sr. Theresa Schleis, Manitowoc; one brother and sister-in-law: Jake and Delores Schleis, Kewaunee. Nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by one daughter: Mary Beth; and one grandson: Michael Starks.Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo (1121 North 14th Street), Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev.
