Elizabeth Jane Haines(1925-2016)Elizabeth Jane Haines, 91, of Naples, Florida, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016. A native of Barnegat, New Jersey, Betty Jane was born on May 17, 1925, daughter of the late Gladys (Cranmer) and William Ambrose Cox. She married E. Myers Haines in 1942. He preceded her in death in 2004 after 62 years of marriage. Also preceded in death by her son Christopher Robin Haines in 2001, and grandson Drew Haines in 2005.Surviving are three sons, William M. Haines and his husband, Edward A. Oehler of Naples, Florida; Kenneth M. Haines and his wife, Irene G. (Schnee) of Royal Palm Beach, Florida; M. Dean Haines and his wife, Christine E. (Ercolano) of Naples, Florida; a daughter, Elizabeth Anne and her husband, William A. Oakley of Punta Gorda, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn (Bonvie) Haines of Egg Harbor City, New Jersey; and a sister, Naomi C. Gerken of Carthage, North Carolina. Also surviving are five grandchildren, David A. Haines, Laura R. Haines, Michael J. Haines, Meredith A. Haines, and Robin B. Haines, as well as six great-grandchildren.Before moving to Florida in 1978, Betty worked as a bookkeeper at the Times-Beacon Company both in Tuckerton and in Manahawkin and later at Haines Pontiac in Tuckerton. In Florida she worked as title clerk and bookkeeper for several auto dealerships in the Delray Beach area, moving to Naples in 1996, where she was chief bookkeeper for ten years with The Mole Hole on Third Street South in Old Naples.She was a life-long member of the Barnegat Friends Meeting and interment will be in their cemetery at a later date.Her friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service at The Carlisle of Naples on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 11:00 A.M.
