Otten, Elizabeth "Betty" JaneElizabeth "Betty" Jane Otten, nee McNamara of West Bend, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the age of 81 years. She was born on October 27, 1935 to the late John and Anna (nee Schneider) McNamara in Campbellsport, residing there until her marriage to Leo Otten at St. Matthew's Catholic Church on January 31, 1959.She is survived by her 4 children: Tony (Debbie) of West Bend, Jeff of West Bend, Julianne (Joe) Daly of Glenview, IL and Jim (Julie) of West Bend; 14 grandchildren: Erica, Journey, Jacob, Jennifer (Kyle) Rogers, Samuel, Lauren Daly, Mary Kate Daly, Claire Daly, P.J., Allyson, Melanie, Kendra, Sophia and Leo; 3 great-grandchildren Ava, Addyson and Maddox; 1 brother Sylvester McNamara; 1 sister Alice Taylor; 2 sisters-in-law Rose Ann (Charles) Hunt and Janet Otten; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Leo, their son Timothy, her brothers Patrick (Sylvia), John and Gordon McNamara, her sister Lucille (Eugene) Stanchfield; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Ruth McNamara, Glenway Taylor, Eugene (Susan) Otten, Hugh Otten, Sylvester Otten and Mary (Dale) King.Betty and Leo opened and ran Whitey's Resort on Wallace Lake. Betty was employed in various office positions at the West Bend Company and Aqua-Tech, Inc. For many years, she worked at her sons' businesses at Kettle Moraine Heating and Cooling and Kettle Moraine Appliance and TV.Her husband, children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life, sharing many happy holidays, birthdays, weddings, picnics, vacations and other joyous events. She was a long-time member of St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Parish and a former secretary of the Christian Women's Sodality. She enjoyed volunteering and working with many good friends at St. Mary's.The family will greet relatives and friends during a period of visitation at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Thursday, June 15 from 1:30 until 3:15 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at the church. Private burial services will be at St. Mary's Cemetery (old).In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Parish, West Bend are appreciated.The Schmidt Funeral Home of West Bend is serving the family.
