Mrs. Elizabeth Josephine Clemons, 86, of Bardstown, passed away Monday, May 23, 2016, at Colonial Health and Rehab in Bardstown. She was born on March 3, 1930, in Bardstown to the late Virgil McGill and Thelma Troxell Snellen. She was a former waitress and cook for Talbott Tavern and Tom Pigs and former president of DAVA and of Baptist faith.She was preceded in death by her husband, James Elmore "Sonny" Clemons; a grandson Robert O'Bryan; and two brothers, Robert "Sonny" McGill and James "Lightning" Glascock.Survivors include four sons, W. Ernie (Gloria) O'Bryan, of Loretto; Columbus R. (Trina) O'Bryan, of Botland, Virgil D. O'Bryan, of Balltown and Robert L. "Scrub" (Henny) O'Bryan of Bardstown; two daughters, Patsy (Oddie) Bartley, of Greenbriar, and Jeannie Walker, of Bardstown, one sister, Mary A. "Bobbie" O'Daniel, of Bardstown; 24 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.The funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. Brother Darrell Goodlett will officiate. Visitation is Thursday from noon to 3:30 p.m. at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road, which is in charge of arrangements.
