Elizabeth Lee BernauPhoenix, AZElizabeth Lee (Walker) Bernau, age 70, was born on June 19, 1947 in Trona, CA to Freda and Jack Walker. She was one of 3 daughters. On August 23, 1968, she married Daniel Bernau and moved to Milwaukee, WI where three of her children were born. Following a job transfer, she and her family moved back to California where her daughter was born. In 1977, she and her family settled in Thousand Oaks where she raised her four children. After the children were grown, Liz and Dan divorced, and in 2005 she moved to San Antonio, TX to pursue her dreams. She moved to Phoenix, AZ 5 years ago to be near her son, James, and his family. On July 2, 2017, she passed away in Phoenix.Liz was a dedicated mother and loved her family very much. She volunteered and worked at Weathersfield Elementary School during the years her 4 children attended school there, as well as Thousand Oaks Little League. She worked at St. Patrick's Episcopal Day School filling various positions for 23 years. She also was a full-time caregiver for her mother, Freda, who passed away in 2013. She is survived by her two sisters Suzanne Dean and Marilynn Walker McKee; her four children, Steve Bernau, Ken Bernau, James Bernau, and Renee Fate; her grandchildren Ethan, Aiden, Anna, Miriam, and Kyra. She will be missed dearly.Memorial service will be held on September 23rd at 11:00am at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church in Thousand Oaks.
