Elizabeth M. "Betty" (Kelly) Salamon, 89, of Plainville passed away peacefully on December 8, 2016 at Apple Rehab of Farmington Valley in Plainville. She was the beloved wife of Walter Salamon for 66 years. Betty was born on May 7, 1927 in Mt. Vernon, New York, daughter to the late John and Helen (Grogan) Kelly. She grew up in New Britain and attended local schools. Betty was a longtime resident of Plainville and a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church. She worked as a telephone operator in New Britain and at GE. She left the work force to become a homemaker. In addition to her husband, Walter, Betty is survived by her daughter, Wendy Caruso and her husband, James, of Plainville; her son, Walter Salamon, Jr. and his companion, Patricia Ferrier, of Pennsylvania; her grandchildren, Kimberly Jones, Pamela Caruso, David Caruso, and Nicole Caruso; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services in celebration of Betty's life will begin on Tuesday, December 13 at 9 AM from Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad Street, Plainville for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 94 Broad Street, Plainville. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery in Plainville.
