Elizabeth "Betty" MensingerSt. StephenOctober 16, 1928 - May 2, 2017The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Elizabeth "Betty" ( Douvier) Mensinger age 88 of St. Stephen, will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, May 6, at the St. Stephen Catholic Church in St. Stephen. Father Eugene Doyle will officiate. Burial will be at the parish Cemetery. Betty died Tuesday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Friends may call from 4-8:00 PM Friday and again after 9:30 AM Saturday at the St. Stephen, Parish Hall. Prayers will be held at 4:00 PM Friday at the parish hall. Arrangements are being made by the Miller-Carlin Funeral Homes. Betty was born on October 16, 1928 in Holdingford, MN to Henry and Amelia (Mareck) Douvier. She married Frank Mensinger on May 29, 1950, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Holdingford and took up residence at the Mensinger farm in St. Stephen. Raising 13 children, helping on the farm, and providing childcare until taking a job at the VA Hospital from 1980 until 1990. Betty was a member of the St. Stephen Catholic Church, the Mission Group, and Christian Mothers. She especially enjoyed coordinating the annual St. Nick Party and working at The Church Bazaar. Survivors include her sons and daughters, Edward (Nancy Hofer) Mensinger, of Webster SD; Michael (Pam) Mensinger, of Buffalo; Rose Mary (Eldred) Jonas, of Holdingford; Joan Volkers, of Sartell; Joyce (Jim) Honer, of Saint Stephen; Janice (Melvin Przyborowski) Mensinger, of St. Joseph; Kay (Bob) Lambrecht, of Big Lake; Mary Jo (Marv) Gerads, of Milaca; Susie Williams, of Brandon, FL; Debbie (Greg) Bounds, of Grand Rapids; David (Lori) Mensinger, of St. Stephen; Joseph (Aimee') Mensinger, of Camarillo, CA; a brother, Alois Douvier, of Arizona, and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Douvier, of Albany; 41 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank in 1997, son, Leo Mensinger in 2006; granddaughter, Jennifer Mensinger, great-grandson, Jorden Gallagher; brothers: Frank Douvier, Andrew Douvier, and Leo Douvier; and sisters: Loretta Dickhausen, Julia Grebinoski, Mary Welters, and Magdalen Kedrowski.
