Mrs. Elizabeth "Bess" Treverrow Murphy, 87, died peacefully, March 5, 2016 following an extended illness. Elizabeth was born on January 22, 1929 in Sloatsburg, New York to the late Sylvester and Helen Treverrow and has lived here in Lake City all of her life. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, who cherished the time spent with her family, and a faithful member of Epiphany Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, four brothers, her great granddaughter, Sarah Davis and her caring husband of 53 years, Thomas Richard Murphy.Survivors include her daughter, Patti Masters of Lake City, FL; sons, Tom (the late Denise) Murphy of Greenville, SC, Jimmy Murphy of Lake City, FL, Tim (Brenda) Murphy and Brian Murphy both of Lake City, FL; 12 grandchildren, Alison Davis, Tiffany (Greg) Jones, Courtney (Jason) Bryan, Dain (Summer) Cohee, Laura (Matt) Grinstead, Ashley Adams, Travis Murphy, Jared (Kristina) Murphy, Lennon Murphy, Caitlynn Murphy, Dalton Murphy, and Joey Murphy; 13 great grandchildren & 3 great great grandchildren, and a host of beloved nieces, nephews and cherished friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m, on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Father Rob Trujillo and Pastor Randy Ogburn officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to service time (2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.) at the funeral home.
