It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ella Brown, who left this world on March 14, 2025 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was born on August 30, 1957 to Sylvestor and Willie Mae Watkins.
Ella is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Terrance Brown, and their six children: Essence, Jenell (James Marshall), Talena (Tarrence Peters), Terrisa, James, and Tyeshai. She was also a proud grandmother to 37 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
Ella attended West Aurora High School and graduated in 1974 before furthering her education at the University of Minnesota, where she graduated in 1978. She dedicated many years of her life to working at the University of Minnesota until her retirement in 2020.
Ella will be remembered for her infectious laugh, her love of cooking, and her unwavering devotion to her family. She had a heart of gold and always knew how to make those around her smile.
In true Ella fashion, she left this world peacefully, succumbing to the most inevitable of fates: natural causes. We can almost hear her laugh from above, cracking jokes about how she finally got some rest after a lifetime of hard work.
Rest easy, Ella. You will be deeply missed and always remembered with love and laughter.
