Dec. 25, 1925 ~ Oct. 25, 2016Ellen passed from this life to the next with the gracefulness and class with which she lived her life.She was born on Christmas day in 1925 to Ann & Will Hancock in San Bernardino, CA. She graduated from the University of Utah as an RN, then proudly served her country as a nurse in the
United States Navy during the
Korean conflict. She retired in 1986 and spent her retirement doing the things she loved: golf, traveling and teaching.The family would like to thank the "Five East-er Nurses," these were Ellen's colleagues and student nurses, all were life-long friends.Thanks to Highland Cove staff for their care and friendship. Ellen's nursing was such a part of who she was that she kept staff updated on the health status of other residents and they appreciated her expertise. Thank you also OneCare Hospice.Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, of 63 years, and is survived by children Leslie and Paul Jr.It was Ellen's wish not to have a memorial service, she wanted to be remembered alive. To honor her request the family will be hosting a gathering of friends with refreshments and drinks.
