Ellen Orndoff SconciAustin, TXA remarkable lady passed away peacefully on Friday, January 20, 2017. Ellen Orndoff Sconci, 89, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to the world, making new friends everywhere she went. She was born on March 23, 1927 in Luling, Texas to Susie Mae and Louis Orndoff. She loved The Lord and had the patience of Job, waiting 78 years for her one and only grandchild. Ellen never had a bad day, never complained, was always thankful, grateful and looking positively forward. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. Ellen gave her best at all she endeavored to do with character and integrity above reproach. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Reynold Sconci, her parents; sisters, Bessie Snyder and Anice White; and brothers, Frances, D.M., Walter and Jake.Ellen is survived by her son, Jim Geary and wife, Kysia of Austin and Jackson, Mississippi; granddaughter, Grayce Elizabeth Geary also of Jackson, Mississippi and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Sam Peeples, the doctors, nurses and staff at Baptist Hospital - Jackson and Manhattan Nursing Home for their care, compassion and support.
