Elliott Frank Thomas, Sr.MadisonElliott Frank Thomas, Sr. passed away at St. Dominic Hospital on April 10 at the age of 87. He will always be remembered for his dedication to his faith and his family. Elliott was born on October 13, 1929 to Frank and Lucille Thomas. He attended Chamberlain Hunt Academy. He served in the Korean War. On April 25, 1954 he married Betty Jo Simon and they were married for 62 happy years. During his early years he was a traveling salesman for Frank R. Thomas Co. Inc. and he later was President of the company until his retirement. After his retirement, his two main hobbies were playing Solitaire on his laptop and checking on all his grandchildren's activities. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Madison. He was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and also the Alhambra. He was also a member of the Cedars of Lebanon Club in Jackson. He is survived by his children Elliott Frank Thomas, Jr. and his wife, Dawn Traxler Thomas; daughter, Lynda Thomas Lively and her husband, Greg Lively; Frank Rashid Thomas II and his wife, Melissa Turbeville Thomas; grandchildren, Mary Kathryn Allen (Bo) of Jackson; Elizabeth Bowers (Chris) of Madison; Elliott Thomas III of Atlanta, GA; Mary Beth Lively and Anna Blake Lively of Oxford; Trey Thomas of Madison; great grandchildren, Emme Allen and Leeman Bowers. He is also survived by his sisters Marlene Iupe and Carolyn Simon, both of Jackson, and numerous nieces and nephews. All services will be at St. Francis Catholic Church in Madison. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-7pm followed with a Rosary. Visitation Wednesday 10-11am with a Funeral Mass following. Burial will be at Parkway Memorial Cemetery.Memorials may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church or to St. Jude.
