Elmer Krumwiede, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on February 14, 2024, at the age of 76 in Newcastle, Nebraska, United States. Elmer was born on May 16, 1947, to Jethro and Bessie Krumwiede.
Elmer married the love of his life, Ellie Mae, in 1967, and they were blessed with two children, Buford and Virgil. Buford married Esther, and Virgil married Annabelle. Elmer adored his grandchildren, but their names are being kept private.
Elmer attended Newcastle Community School in Newcastle, Nebraska, where he graduated in 1965. He then went on to further his education at Wayne State College, graduating in 1966.
Elmer dedicated many years of his life to serving the City of Newcastle, Nebraska, where he worked until his retirement in 2019. He was a valuable member of the Nebraska Pig Wranglers organization, for which he was awarded the prestigious 1985 Nebraska Hog-Callers Assn. Award.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Elmer had a passion for serving his community as a volunteer fireman for the Village of Newcastle, Nebraska. He was known for his dedication to helping others in times of need.
Tragically, Elmer passed away from a farm accident, leaving behind a legacy of love and service to his family and community. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
