Fox, ElmerElmer F. Fox, age 86, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, March 23, 2017 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on January 8, 1931, the son of John and Elizabeth (Benedict) Fox. On August 7, 1954 he married Ruth E. Freiberg in Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on June 10, 2014. Elmer served in the United States Army during the Korean War. For many years Elmer and his brother Ben owned and operated Foxes Tavern. Elmer then went on to work at Mercury Marine until retiring and going to work at Kitz & Pfeil True Value. He was a member of Eagles Aerie #270 and also volunteered at St. Agnes Hospital. Elmer enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers, playing cribbage, and spending time at the cottage with family.Survivors include one son, Gary (Amy) Fox of Terrell, TX; one daughter, Alicia (Paul) Schaeve of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren, Brett and Lauren Fox, and Alison and Braden Schaeve; two sisters, Mary Wagner of Fond du Lac, Bernice Evenson of Fond du Lac; one brother, Jerome Fox of Fond du Lac; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ruth; his brothers, William (Helen) Fox, Lawrence (Catherine) Fox, Sylvester (Ellen) Fox, Gilbert (Roseanne) Fox, Benedict (Ernie) Fox, John "Jack" Fox; his sisters, Frances (Paul) Gremminger, Genevieve (Frank) Junaitis, Virginia (Warren) Hess, Viola (Les) Bohlman.Visitation will take place on Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 4-7 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. Funeral will take place on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church-Holy Family Parish, 200 S. Peters Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. Visitation will take place on Monday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
