Eloise Maddox passed away on May 18th, 2023 at the age of 73 in her hometown of Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States.
Born on January 1st, 1950, Eloise spent her formative years in Chattanooga. She was the eldest of four siblings and quickly took on the responsibility of being the big sister. She was a loving and devoted daughter to her parents, who instilled in her a strong work ethic and the importance of giving back to the community.
Eloise was a graduate of Chattanooga High School and right after, she went to work as a secretary in the local government office. She loved her job and the people she worked with. She was always known to be someone who gave 110% in everything she did and would go out of her way to help anyone who needed it.
Eloise met the love of her life in 1972. She married James Maddox, and they shared over 50 blissful years together. They were inseparable and were always seen together around town doing things like shopping, volunteering, and supporting their favorite sports teams. They loved going on road trips and traveling to places they had only dreamed of seeing.
Eloise was a devout Christian and was very active in her church. She taught Sunday school for many years and was always one of the first to volunteer when the church needed help with anything. She had a kind and compassionate heart, and her love for others was evident in everything she did.
Eloise was also an avid gardener and was proud of her beautiful flower beds that she tended to with care. She loved spending time outside, especially with her grandchildren, whom she adored. Her family was the most important thing to her, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Eloise is survived by her husband, James Maddox, her three children, Jennifer, David, and Kimberly, her grandchildren, and her three siblings. She will be deeply missed by countless friends, family members, and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
