Elsie EvansWashington/Hatch, UtahElsie Jones Evans, age 69, died peacefully on December 17, 2016 at DRMC located in St. George, Utah due to natural causes. She was born on June 24,1947 in Panguitch, Utah to Albert & Hilda Jones. She married Clark Lynn Evans on July 2, 1966 in Kanab, Utah. They were later sealed in the St. George Temple and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Elsie's greatest love was her family. She retired from Dixie State College after 25 years of being their head baker. She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers and working in the yard. Her passion was cooking, baking, candy making and making cakes for her family celebrations. She also enjoyed visiting with family, friends and neighbors. She enjoyed couponing, rebating, and collecting Pillsbury Doughboys and M&M memorabilia. She is survived by her half-brothers Alma (Judy) Jones, Deloy (Petra) Jones. Half-sister Margaret Taylor. Brothers Gaylan (Judy) Jones, Edward (Elizabeth) Jones, Elmer (Marie) Jones, Larry (Penny) Jones. Children, Tony (Lori) Evans, Terry (Crystal) Evans, Colleen (Kenny) Gee, Tracy (Wendy) Evans, Carol (Mike) Jackson, Blaine Evans. Stepchildren Kenneth (Willamena) McDaniel, Rick (Darla) Evans-Allen, LuAnn Evans, Sheryl (Kenneth) Gould, Lori Evans. She is preceded in death by her parents, half-brother Calvin Jones, half-sister Alberta Dobbs, sister Jolene Sorensen and step-son Dale Evans. Her viewing will be held at the Washington 11th Ward LDS Chapel located at 446 East Mangum Road on Thursday December 29th from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Graveside services will be held at the Hatch, Utah City Cemetery at 2:00 pm on Friday under the direction of Mosdell Mortuary of Kanab, Utah.
