Elsie Lorraine Matthews, 89 years young, a 57 year resident of Yuma, Az., passed away Friday, April 3, 2015 at Yuma Regional Medical Center. Elsie was born on April 24, 1925 in Sargent, ND.Elsie is survived by her husband, Larry D. Matthews, and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June. She is also survived by her three children, Michael Swain of Bullhead City, AZ, Jeffrey Swain of Chandler, AZ, Tami Swain-Soldevere of Chandler, AZ; two grandchildren, Chantel Soldevere and Savanna Soldevere, both of Chandler.Elsie was a homemaker, and after her children were grown, she worked for Babbits Department Store and Kelly Ann's Boutique.Her family and friends always referred to Elsie as being as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. She enjoyed life and doing things for others, especially during the holidays when she would make candy for family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.There are no services scheduled.
