Elsie M. BurkhalterDELPHI - Elsie Burkhalter, longtime resident of Delphi, passed away on Sept. 11, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Delphi. Elsie was born on Oct. 14, 1934 in Reynolds, Indiana to the late Gustaf and Lille (Sigman) Brehmer. She was a 1952 graduate of Delphi High School.Elsie married Donald E. Burkhalter on Oct. 19, 1952 at the Presbyterian Church in Delphi and he survives. Mrs. Burkhalter was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family and home. She enjoyed doing word search puzzles and was an avid watcher of The Price is Right. She was also a member of the Delphi Presbyterian ChurchAlong with her husband, she is survived by her children: Lisa Cook (Jeff) of Delphi, Brent Burkhalter (Sally) of Lafayette, Amy Adams of Delphi, daughter-in-law: Sandy Burkhalter of Attica; 13 grandchildren: Ashley, Kelli, Shannon, Brandon, Allison, Aaron, Mark, Quincy, Madeline, Carter, Keeton, Preston & Gavin; and 10 great-grandchildren.She was preceded by her parents, son, Bruce in 2007; and siblings: Howard, Marvin, Forrest and Allen Brehmer; and sister, Madeline Jean.Visitation is from 4-7:00 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home in Delphi on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014. Services will be there at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 15, 2014 with Pastor Bill McLean officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens, Pittsburg.
