Eluse E. DugasERATH - A Mass of Christian Burial for Eluse Elizabeth Dugas, 100, will be celebrated on Friday, November 18, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath, Louisiana. He died on Tuesday, November 15, at his residence in Erath. Father Andre Metrejean, pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, will be the celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Scripture readings will be proclaimed by Anna Trahan and Joshua Korf. Music ministers will include Natial d'Augereau and members of the choir of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, directed by Clevie Thibodeaux and accompanied by Samuel Thibodeaux, D.V.M. Gift bearers will be Anna Trahan and Elizabeth Korf. Entombment will follow the Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home in Erath on Friday, November 18, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. A Rosary will be prayed by the Knights of Columbus at 1:00 p.m. Eluse Dugas was born on June 6, 1916, in Prairie Gregg, Louisiana, to Aduse Dugas and the former Olivia Dubois. He graduated from Henry High School in 1934. He was a businessman and cattle rancher. He also enjoyed gardening and gave much of his produce to friends and relatives. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Council 3872 of the Knights of Columbus for over fifty years and of the A.J. Braquet Assembly 330 of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. The survivors of Eluse Dugas include his son, Rodney James Dugas, and his wife, the former Norma Lee White, of Lafayette, Louisiana, and their sons, Jude Gerard Dugas, and his fiancée, Donna Sue Sullivan, of Lafayette, and his daughter, Sophie Lynn Berard; and Mitchell Gerard Dugas, M.D., and his wife, Rachel Huguet Dugas, of Carencro, Louisiana, and their children, Melody Grace Dugas, Joseph Parker Dugas, and James Clark Dugas. He is also survived by his daughter, Elsie Faye Marie Dugas Trahan, and her husband, Carlin Dale Trahan, of Erath, and their children, John David Trahan and his wife, the former Sandra "Sandy" Comeaux, of Port Barre, Louisiana, and their daughter, Ashley Megan Trahan, and her son, Aiden Neal Quinn, of Maurice, Louisiana; Anna Maria Trahan Trahan and her husband, Frederick Joseph Trahan, and their sons, Matthew Phillip Trahan, Christopher Ross Trahan, and Jonathan Michael Trahan, all of Lafayette, Louisiana; Donald Emile Trahan and his wife, the former Tina Marie Reaux, of Youngsville, Louisiana; and Elizabeth Nolia Trahan Korf and her husband, Joshua Matthew Korf, of Houston, Texas. Survivors also include numerous nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Lucille Armstrong Schaub Dugas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Leurline Angelle Thibodeaux Dugas; his grandson, Jason Edmund Dugas; his sister, Una Dugas Broussard and her husband, Joseph Charles Broussard; his brother, Elton Dugas and his wife, Evelyn Richard Dugas; his brother, Curley Dugas; and his brother, Reno Dugas and his wife, Wilda Broussard Dugas. Serving as pallbearers will be Jude Dugas, Dr. Mitchell Dugas, John Trahan, Donald Trahan, Frederick Trahan, and Joshua Korf. The family is grateful to Tina and Norris Bouillion, Shirley Broussard, Rebecca Broussard, Velma Broussard, and Claire Hulin. These wonderful caregivers were loving, kind, and patient, and enriched Eluse's life in a multitude of ways.
