Elvin T. Baca, 41, a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Sept. 10, 1974, to Tomas and Cleo Montoya Baca in Las Vegas.He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Antonio and Zoraida Montoya, and paternal grandparents, Silverio and Benigna Baca.He is survived by his loving parents, Tomas and Cleo; brother, Erwin and wife, Denise; nephews, Bryce, Brandon and niece, Lainey, all of Las Vegas. His heart belonged to his longtime girlfriend, Melissa Velasquez. He is also survived by his special brother and best friend, Julian Baca (Kamera); special sisters, Miriam Baca, Veronica Martinez-Crook (Carl) and Patricia Martinez (Charles) and special nephews, JJ, Jerry, Josiah and Nathaniel, and special nieces, Akira, Zoe and Luciana. Elvin is survived by aunts and uncles, Adelina Santillanes, Marcie Adamson, Mary/George Baca, Enedean/Orlando Romero, Debbie Lovato (Gary), Eddie/Della Montoya, James Montoya (Denise), Louis Montoya, Alex/Donna Montoya, Martha Montoya, Mary Baca, Nino/Flora Baca, Manuel/Inez Baca, and Anne Baca, his godparents, Louis Montoya, and Sonny and Mariam Romero. His godchildren, Lainey Jane, JJ, Jerry, and Josiah Baca and Taylor Wells held a very special place in his heart. He is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.Elvin was an amazing man whose heart overflowed with love for his family and friends. He was a generous and gentle soul who took care of everyone; especially his parents and had become a good cook. A true cowboy at heart, he loved spending time with his family and friends and was often affectionately referred to as "Uncle Elvin."He enjoyed welding, riding horseback, auto mechanics, working on tack, and watching old westerns and was very creative and artistic. He had the ability to accomplish anything he put his mind to. He was a perfectionist and very meticulous about his projects. He was also a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. Rosary services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Monday at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas. The funeral mass will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Church with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant. Interment services will be conducted immediately after mass in San Ignacio with the following serving as honorary pallbearers: Bryce Baca, Brandon Baca, Julian Baca, JJ Baca, Jerry Baca, Josiah Baca, and all of his cousins. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rogers Mortuary.
