Emile MuntanMANSFIELD: Emile Muntan, age 80, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 10, 2017. Emile was born on November 17, 1936 to Theodore and Patsy Muntan who preceded him in death. Emile served four years in the
United States Navy. After his discharge, he settled in Mansfield and worked for The Tappan Company for 32 years retiring in 1998. He was a proud Boy Scout leader for many years guiding boys into manhood. He was very proud to have an Eagle Scout in his troop. Emile enjoyed woodworking throughout his life. Later in life, he took up painting and displayed pictures with pride. He was an avid golfer with a hole-in-one! He was a member of Little Washington Congregational Church. Emile is survived by his son, Rick (Deborah) Muntan and his two daughters, Cindi (Dan) Furtado and Becky (Jack) Sharp. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Kalee Richards, Camren Sharp and Christa Schlegelmilch; brother, Willie Muntan; sisters, Mary Hockenberry, and Patricia (Jim) Simmons. He also leaves behind his best friend, Ellie Shaffer. Emile was an amazing person, with a very colorful personality and a great sense of humor. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be dearly missed. A gathering will be held at the Life Celebration Center, 129 S. Main St. Mansfield, Ohio, on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family.
