Emma Katherine (Uhrich) Bach, age 99, of Tawas, formerly of LaGrange, Ill., passed away peacefully Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Tendercare Nursing Home in Tawas City. Emma was born on June 16, 1913 in Chicago, Ill. to Phillip and Theresia (Schmidt) Uhrich. She attended Waller High School in Chicago and later became employed as an information telephone operator. She married her best friend and most beloved "Jack" on Aug. 4, 1934 in Chicago and together they celebrated 54 beautiful years of marriage. Emma was a former resident of Tawas Village in East Tawas and most recently was a resident of Tendercare Nursing Home. She was dearly loved by all who knew her and touched so many lives. She will be greatly missed by all. Emma is survived by her four loving children, Jack (Lori) of Ruskin, Fla., Jerry (Patti) of Hot Springs Village, Ark., Jeannie (Dick) Fike of East Tawas and Karen (Dean) Kobs of East Tawas; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Emma was preceded in death by her dear husband, Jacob C. Bach; parents, Phillip and Theresia Uhrich; and two brothers, Edward and Arthur Uhrich. Emma will be laid to rest privately in Greenwood Cemetery in East Tawas and her family will have a gathering to celebrate her life at a later date.
