Emmit Byrd, of Metter, Georgia, passed away on August 14, 2025, at the age of 76. He was born on March 9, 1949.

Emmit was a proud graduate of Metter High School and went on to have a successful career as a Candler Board/Bus driver before retiring in 2014.

Outside of work, Emmit enjoyed hobbies such as fishing, hunting, and farming. He had a love for the great outdoors and spent many hours pursuing his passions.

Emmit is survived by his 1 child, Kyle Byrd, and spouse Stephanie, as well as 4 beloved grandchildren. They brought him immense joy and pride throughout his life.

Emmit will be remembered for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and love of family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Rest in peace, Emmit Byrd. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.
