Emuel Moroni Jenson died Sept. 22, 2009, at age 97. He was born on May 23, 1912, in Millville, Utah, to Joseph Moroni Jenson and Augusta Amalia Elvira Jeppson (Andersson.) Emuel married Vera Perkes of Hyde Park, Utah, on Sept. 7, 1934, in Farmington, Utah. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple in Sept., 1942. Vera died in March 2001 in St. George, Utah. E.M. and Vera started their life together in Logan, lived many years in Brigham City and moved to St. George in 1965. Emuel's long life was filled with service in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved to be outdoors where he could camp and fish and hunt. He shared this love with his family and the youth of the church. He served a full time mission in Missouri, Tennessee and Kentucky with Vera from 1977-79. He served many years in the St. George LDS Temple as an ordinance worker and patron until two months before his death. He also enjoyed playing golf, which he did regularly until he was 96. Emuel was loved and will be missed by his family and friends. But we are happy that he is now with Vera and other family members who had gone before him. Survivors include one daughter and five sons: Gerald Emuel of Woods Cross, Utah, Sidney LaMarr of Farmington, Utah, Merlin Ray of Littleton, Colo., Ralph Allen of Riverside, Idaho, Susan (Robert) Blake of St. George, Utah, and Ray D. of Price, Utah; sisters, Meda Curtis of St. George, Utah, Inez Peterson of Las Vegas, Nev., LaVonne Yeates of Nibley, Utah, Ruth Shoup of Logan, Utah; Also 36 grandchildren; 83 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, in the Nineteenth Ward Chapel. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m.Friday at the Metcalf Mortuary, and from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service Saturday. Burial will be in the St. George Cemetery.
