Mission - Mission/Canyon Lake, Texas - Erasmo Perez was born on January 26, 1939. On Thursday, October 20th our strong and brave father was taken to his final resting place to join his beloved wife Dora. There are many that have had the honor and privilege of having had Erasmo be a part of their lives and most would know that he was all about family. He instilled family and work ethic in his children and always reminded all who would listen that it was the most important thing in life - to work hard and take care of family. In an inscription that he wrote many years ago, he described the most important things in his life as God, Love, Family and Work. While he remained a proud, strong independent man to the end, at the core of his heart these remained what he was all about. He was a son, a brother, a husband, a father, a godfather, a grandfather and last but not least the beloved "Great" to his great grandchildren. He created a great legacy for his children that they will continue with the family circle of strength and love. "Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them!" Psalms 127. Erasmo was preceded in death by his wife Dora E. Perez, son-in-law Adrian Gonzalez, and granddaughter Erica A. Perez. He is survived by his six children, Ruby Perez (Michael Morrison), Hilda Perez, Marcos Perez (Lydia), Liza Perez Gonzalez, Erasmo Perez Jr. (Ofelia) and Xavier Perez (Belinda). He also adds more jewels to his crown with his grandchildren, Matthew J. Morrison (Christi), Marc M. Perez, Alyssa M. Morrison, Issac J. Perez (Tiffany), Nicholas Perez, D. Lucas Hinojosa, Laura M. Hinojosa, Adrian P. Hinojosa, Blake A. Perez and Savannah L. Perez and finally his beloved great grandchildren Asher J. Morrison, Issac A. Perez, Hudson M. Morrison. He is also survived by his sisters Nora Martinez, Delia Hooks and his brother Robert Perez and many nieces and nephews that he held dear to his heart. We are blessed to have been a part of his life. In his absence, he continues to sustain us with his truth, work ethic and love of family. We honor you, respect you and love you with all of our hearts. Visitation for family and friends will be from 3 pm to 5 pm with a 6 pm rosary and a 7 pm service on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission, Texas.
