Eric "E.J." BerryPortlandAge 74, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born on November 23, 1942 in Newberry, MI the son of Jay and Fern (Terrian) Berry. He was a member of St. Patrick Church, the Resurrection Choir and the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Fr. Godez Assembly. E.J. graduated from M.S.U. and worked for the State of Michigan - Office of Services to the Aging and then the Federal Emergency Management Agency. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Mary; children, Eric (Carrie) Berry, Janelle (Craig Pierce) Berry, and Keith (Jennifer) Berry; grandchildren, Emily, Jack, Cecelia, Joseph, and Lucas; sister, Babs (Sharon) Berry; sisters and brothers, Garry and Margo Wieber, Carol and Leonard Germain, Ann Wieber, Louis and Debera Wieber; and several nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 27, 2017 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland with Rev. Larry King, presiding. Rite of Committal will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lansing. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. The rosary will be prayed at 3:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Patrick Educational Fund, Portland Food Bank, or K of C Diaper Drive in memory of E.J.
