A Loving Son, an Incredible Brother, a Vivacious Uncle, a Doting Father and a Faithful Friend
Eric Martinez was born in San Francisco, California to Ricardo Martinez and Dina Monterrosa on August 1, 1962. He grew up in South San Francisco California and attended Serra Vista Elementary, Mater Dolorosa Elementary, Christian Brothers School in Napa, Riordan High School and El Camino High School. He went to City College of San Francisco and recieved his certification to become an Aeronautic Mechanic . He became a United Airlines Mechanic and set off to travel many places of the world throughout his life.
Eric was an avid softball player, snow skier and body builder. He was Muay Thai trained in Thailand and he moved his career from the San Francisco International airport to the Oakland International Airport and then moved to the Denver Colorado International airport where he lived in Arvada, Co. He married and recieved the greatest gift of his life there, a son in 2007.
Eric retired early from United Airlines and settled in to the town of Lochbuie, Colorado where he enjoyed raising his son part time and attending UFC/MMA fights and travelled to watch his beloved San Francisco Giants in Arizona for spring training. He was also a San Francisco Forty Niner Faithful and he raised his Niner flag proudly in Bronco territory. Eric moved to Buckeye Arizona and enjoyed the desert weather and it is where he passed away from Covid-19 along with other underlying health issues.
Eric is survived by his mother Dina Escobar in South San Francisco, CA., sisters Ena Martinez Lee of Fair Oaks, CA, Nancy Martinez /Patty Martinez of Antioch, CA.,as well as nieces Christina Fitzgerald, Nicole Perez, Michelle Gallagher & Jacqueline Lee. Nephews, Wesley Perez, Spencer Lee and Tyler Welch. He leaves behind his beautiful son Kruz Marquis Martinez in South Dakota. Finally...Eric leaves behind many great, treasured and faithful friends from High School, Softball leagues and his brotherhood at United Airlines.
Our beloved Eric is now resting in God's eternal peace. His wishes were to be cremated and to be scattered over the Pacific Ocean. A Celebration of Life is being held on Treasure Island on August 1st for immediate family and closest friends. *Invitation Only.
*Excerpt of Eric's favorite childhood prayer: The Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi...
For it is in giving that we receive And it's in pardoning that we are pardoned And it's in dying.... that we are born to Eternal Life Amen

You sincerely loved people, and always gave from your heart. You encouraged people to be their best, and always shared a smile. You always tried your best to make the world around you, and those close to you feel the love you had in your big heart.
God rest your soul, in peace, my brother.
