CHICAGO — Eric D. Miller, age 33, of Chicago and formerly of Fort Wayne passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 20, 2017, in Chicago. He was born on October 19, 1983, in Fort Wayne to Pat and Peggy (Lung) Miller. He was a 2002 graduate of Carroll High School in Fort Wayne. In 2006 he graduated from the Department of Aviation at University of North Dakota. Eric became a licensed commercial airline pilot in January 2005. Eric worked as a pilot for Weather Modification, Incorporated based out of Fargo, North Dakota, until 2011. Since 2011 he had worked out of Chicago as a pilot for Express Jet Airlines. He had a stellar service record and was very well liked and respected by those he worked with at the airline. He was an avid soccer player playing on the Fort Wayne Citadel Soccer Club team and he loved watching movies. Survivors include his parents, Pat and Peggy Miller of Fort Wayne; brother and sister-in-law Nathan and Emily Miller of Knoxville, Tennessee; nephew Andrew Miller of Knoxville, Tennessee; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn. Officiating the funeral service will be Rev. Phillip Miller. Burial will take place in Cedar Creek Cemetery in Garrett. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Auburn.
