Erin Jean Burke LeeErin Jean Burke Lee, 71, died peacefully on January 9, 2017 at home in Tallahassee, Florida, after a courageous battle with cancer. Erin was born on August 29, 1945, in Archbald, PA, the daughter of the late William and Mildred Burke. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Lorraine and Anne, and brother, Paul.Erin married her husband, Jae on August 2, 1969. They lived and raised their three children in Teaneck, NJ and Hingham, MA, before settling in Northern VA. Upon Jae's retirement in 2005, they moved to Tallahassee, FL. In addition to raising her children, Erin dedicated her life to a career in nursing. Her kind, compassionate, generous nature brought comfort to all of her patients. Erin could always be found humming a tune and with a smile on her face.Erin enjoyed traveling, spending time with her children, grandchildren, going to all of her grandchildren's special events and was an active member at Good Shepherd Catholic Church.  Erin's love for God and her family were the two things she valued the most and brought her happiness every day.Erin is survived by her husband, Michael Jae Lee; daughter, Mary Jayne and husband, Kevin Sokolow of Tallahassee and daughter, Melissa and husband, Scott Wallace of Tallahassee; son, Michael and wife, Katie Lee of Franklin, TN; nine grandchildren, Kylie, Gavin, Kendall, Brennan, Olivia, Lauren, Kieran, Owen and Chelsea; and a number of other relatives and close friends.A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 2pm at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 4665 Thomasville Road, with a reception for family and friends following in the parish community center.
