Ernest Anthony Douglas, 51, passed on April 23, 2022. He was born to William Douglas Jr. and Penny Brookshire in Meridian, Mississippi on May 28, 1970.
He married Ana Monodragon in 2016 and they lived together in Bakersfield, California. Ernest leaves behind 6 children James Douglas, Anthony Douglas, Charles Hamill-Douglas, Nyree Douglas-Smith (Quincy Smith), Mariah Douglas, and Nichole Douglas. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren.
Ernest graduated from Grant Union High School in 1989 and received two degrees from the University of California, Long Beach in 1996.
Ernest worked at American Elementary School as a 3rd grade teacher until he retired in 2021 and was passionate about affecting the most positive change in people. Over the last year he has traveled to multiple countries including Brazil and Japan. On April 9th, just shortly after breakfast, Ernest suffered a massive stroke, which resulted in hospitalization. He required surgery, and never woke up. On April 23rd, his wife, Ana, decided to pull the plug, ending his life support.
Ernest is remembered for his awkward laugh and dad jokes. And is remembered by the changes he made in every single one of our lives. We don't see this as a 'funeral' but as a Homecoming.
