Ernest Charles "Ernie" DixonSan AngeloErnest Charles Dixon (Ernie) died on Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, at the young age of 57.Ernest is survived by his two children, Ashley Dixon of Huntsville, Texas; and Jonathon Cody Dixon, wife Megan, and children Case, Corbin, and Colton of Huntsville, Texas. He is also survived by two step-children, Bryan Ramsey, wife Heather, and children Hunter, Abbie, and Caleb of Frankston, Texas; and Whitney Buckley, husband Josh, and children Taelynn, Sophia, and Rhyan of LaPoynor, Texas. Ernie is survived by his parents, Edwin and Frances Dixon of San Angelo, Texas; and his sisters, Sheri Rychlik, husband Jerry, and children of San Angelo, Texas; and Sheryl Vondra, husband Charles, and children of Lovelady, Texas. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.Ernie was born on June 6, 1960, in Merkel, Texas. He graduated from Central High School of San Angelo in 1978; Sam Houston State University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Corrections; and the University of Phoenix in 2008 with a Master's Degree in Business Administration.He is remembered by his family as a father who made life look seemingly easy. He was an extremely hard worker, a trait he also passed on to his children. Ernie was looking forward to spending time with his children and grandchildren after a long career in the criminal justice profession.A viewing is at 10 a.m. Thursday at Harper Funeral Home in San Angelo, Texas. Service is at 11 a.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Ernie's life.
