Ernestina married Francisco Pantoja in 1960, and together they raised two children, Betsy Pantoja and Frank Pantoja. She was a loving and devoted grandmother to five grandchildren.

Ernestina dedicated many years of her life to serving others as a healthcare professional at NYCHHC. She worked tirelessly until her retirement in 2013, making a positive impact on the lives of those she cared for.
