Ernesto Hernando Sr, age 93 passed away on February 11, 2017. His passing was peaceful as he was surrounded by his children and other family members. Ernesto was born on November 20, 1923 to Rafael and Beatrix Hernando. Ernesto was a WWII Veteran and served proudly in the US Navy. He was a loving and caring Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother and Uncle. Preceding his death was his wife, Elisa, daughter Betty, granddaughter Yvette, his parents, sisters and brothers (Consuelo Romero, Martha Martinez, Esperanza Rodriguez, Rafael Jr and Rodolfo Hernando). He is survived by their Children; Army Jaquez (Robert), Ernesto Jr. (Gloria), Ray (Belen), Gilbert (Lori), Rene (Lorie) and John (Ana), 23 grandkids and 26 great-grandkids. He is also survived by his sisters Maria Elena Loera, Socorro Uribe, Gloria Juarez, Lydia Morales, Bertha Hernando and Brother Fernando Hernando. Ernesto will be missed dearly by all who knew him and whose lives he touched in many ways. Visitations will be held on Monday, February 20th @ Martin Funeral Home (Central) 5pm - 9pm, with recitation of the Rosary @ 7pm. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, February 21st @ 9:00am @ St. Stephens Catholic Church. Interment @ Ft. Bliss Cemetery.
