MarysvilleSchafer, Ervin Lamar,Ervin Lamar Schafer, 89 of Marysville, IN passed away on Sunday June 18, 2017 at Maple Manor Christian Home in Sellersburg, IN. He was born on August 23, 1927 in Marysville, IN to Edward and Laura Belle Rodgers Schafer. He was a US Army veteran of WWII, was retired from LG&E as an electrician, and was a Deacon and member of the Marysville Christian Church. Mr. Schafer is survived by his wife Emma Lou Feye Schafer; son Dr. Howard Schafer (Terri) of Lafayette, IN; daughter Nancy Schafer of Louisville, KY; his grandchildren: Holly Schafer Swihart (Jeff), Patrick Schafer, Philip Schafer (Carly), and Natasha Schafer; as well as his great-grandchild Brayson Swihart. The family would like to give a special thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and staff at Kentuckiana Medical Center, our wonderful aides who provided round the clock care, as well as the caregivers with Amedysis Hospice and Maple Manor Christian Home.Ervin was a farmer at heart, he loved his family farm and his country. He fought a difficult battle with cancer and he will dearly miss his family, friends and farm.Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 24, 2017 at 1:00pm at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, IN with burial in Charlestown Cemetery.
