URBANA - Esta Brecount, 101, of Terre Haute, OH, died on October 27, 2016 in Windsor Lane Nursing Facility, Gibsonburg, OH.

She was born on January 5, 1915 in Terre Haute, OH, a daughter of John and Alice Gearhart. Esta was a member of the Terre Haute United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #530 in Urbana, OH. She was employed by the Boston Store in Springfield for 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 51 years, Russell Brecount; brothers, Paul and Marion Gearhart; and sisters, Christine Stradling and Leta Pyles.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Robert Metheny of Gibsonburg; grandchildren, Brad (Jodi) Kreglow, Kelly (David) Caprara of Gibsonburg, Scott (Angela) Metheny of Jacksonville, FL and Steve (Michelle) Metheny of Leesburg, FL; great-grandchildren, Matt and Jordan Kreglow and Katie (Grady) Brecheisen, Anthony Caprara, Austin Metheny and Jonathan Metheny; great-great-grandchildren, Mae and Miles Brecheisen; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2016 in the WALTER & STOWE FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where a service will be held at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Barbara Pope and the Rev. Robert Metheny officiating. Burial will follow in Terre Haute Cemetery.
