Estan Sterling, the legendary procrastinator extraordinaire, bid farewell to his existence on July 31, 2023, at the young, tender age of 27. Born on June 22, 1996, in Auburn, Indiana, Estan graced this world with his presence, or rather, his absence, for a limited time.
Estan was a master of the art of time-wasting. It seemed that no task was too small for him to put off until tomorrow, and no deadline was too pressing for him to ignore until the very last minute. He proudly held the record for the longest list of unfulfilled promises and unfinished projects. His talent for procrastination was truly unparalleled.
In his youth, Estan's teachers never quite knew what to make of his unique approach to education. He believed in the philosophy of "Why do something now when you can do it later?". He would effortlessly transform "due today" into "due someday" without breaking a sweat. Estan's classmates would marvel at his seemingly telepathic ability to complete assignments seconds before they were collected, all while maintaining a nonchalant demeanor.
Estan would often be found engrossed in the most fascinating activities during his free time. Whether it was binge-watching entire TV series in one sitting or conducting experiments on the shelf-life of leftovers, he always found a way to postpone the demands of the outside world. His love for the snooze button was as fierce as his passion for putting things off.
Despite his questionable work ethic, Estan possessed a unique charm and an infectious laugh. He had a talent for turning even the dullest tasks into hilarious adventures. From his failed attempts at mastering every musical instrument known to humankind to his unforgettable misadventures in the kitchen, Estan's ability to find humor in the mundane was nothing short of remarkable.
In the words of one of his closest friends, "Estan was never one to hurry through life. He had an exceptional talent for finding joy in every fleeting moment. He taught us that sometimes, it's okay to take the scenic route, as long as you're laughing along the way."
Estan Sterling is survived by his beloved family and friends, who will fondly remember his ability to turn procrastination into an art form. In honor of his memory, the family kindly requests that all flowers be ordered and delivered three weeks after the funeral.
Rest in Procrastination, Estan. May you find eternal solace in the embrace of deadlines postponed.
