Estella J. Caldwell95, passed away on January 12, 2017. Estella was born on November 30, 1921 in Pleasant Ridge, KY to Elijah and Estella Johnson. Estella was an Elementary School Teacher for IPS School 24, IPS School 4, and IPS School 50. She was a member of: Alpha Home Guild; American Association of University Women (AAUW); life member of American Legion Auxiliary, where she was 11th District President; Indiana Retired Teachers Association; life member of NAACP; life member of National Council of Negro Women (NCNW); Our Savior Lutheran Church; life member Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary; life member Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.; life member Kentucky State University Alumni.Estella is preceded in death by her parents; husband Jesse Caldwell; sisters and a brother.  Survivors include: son, Michael Johnson, Indianapolis; niece, Estella Exum (Oscar), Memphis, TN.Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Wed. January 18, 2017 at Crown Hill Funeral Home, with visitation two hours prior to the service. Burial: Crown Hill Cemetery.
