Esther L. Hermansen RACINE – Esther Lillian Hermansen, 96, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Health Care – All Saints on Friday July 31, 2015. She was born on August 11, 1918 in Caledonia to the late Nels and Christina (nee Nielsen) Fisker. On January 16, 1941 Esther was united in marriage to Harold LeRoy Hermansen in Racine. She was a graduate of William Horlick High School. Esther was a longtime member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church and volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary for many years. She retired from State Farm Insurance. Esther was an avid reader, loved knitting and crocheting and helping her daughter in the garden. Esther is survived by her daughter, Patricia Petersen of Racine, son, Harold (Lori) Hermansen of Appleton, grandchildren; Shelly, Robert, John, Joel, Jon, Kendra, Hally and Courtney and 11 great grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Harold on October, 20, 1970, daughter, Judith Lewis, brothers, Chris and Axel and a sister, Agnes. Memorial services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest, next to her husband, at West Lawn Memorial Park. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Memorials to The or to have been suggested by the family.
