NIDEKEthel Joan (Commet) Ethel Joan (Commet) Nidek, age 80, of Lambertville, MI passed away November 11, 2016 in her home. The daughter of Joseph and Pearl (LaPointe) Commet, she was born on August 7, 1936 in Petersburg, MI. The earth lost a precious soul but heaven is all the richer with her arrival. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed. A graduate of Summerfield High School in 1955, she was also a former Red Feather queen of Monroe County in 1955. Ethel married the love of her life Walter Nidek on November 5, 1955.She was a real estate agent for 44 years with DiSalle and Real-Estate Solutions. A women of many hobbies she liked to travel, play bingo, cards, dance and going to the casino, but most of all she loved being with her family. She also enjoyed taking care of her house, winning yard of the month this year in July. Ethel was known for decorating her house for the holidays especially Christmas where she loved to entertain and feed family and friends with her wonderful cooking. Ethel is survived by her loving daughters, Terry (Harry) Hahn, Darlene Nidek, Kathy (Mike) Venia and Shelly (Glenn) Younce; stepdaughter, Susie Rusgo; siblings, Mildred, Rita, Eileene and Donna; grandchildren, Amy (Jake) Garmon, Brandon (Erinn) Venia, Andrea (Matt) Schwaberow, Adam (Lauren) Hahn; step-grandchildren, Corey, Lissa, Dustin and 10 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her siblings, Michelle, Francis, Hilda, Mary, Edward, Merle, Lawrence, Glenn.Visitation will be Sunday, November 13, 2016 from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski's Bedford Funeral Chapel, 8300 Lewis Avenue Temperance, MI. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, November 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony Catholic Church, Temperance, MI, where visiting will begin after 10:00 a.m. in the narthex. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Donations may be made to the Cherry St. Mission, Sparrows Nest or any area Food Bank.
