On April 18, 2024, the world lost a truly remarkable soul with the passing of Ethel Rattigan (Garner), of Stone Mountain, Georgia. Born on September 8, 1958, Ethel was the beloved daughter of Willie and Evelyn Garner.

Ethel married the love of her life, Kirk Rattigan, in 2013 both of them got married. Ethel left behind 3 beautiful daughters:Michelle, Rhonda, and Latonya. She was also a cherished grandmother to nine grandchildren their names are Deshawn Brown, Ethel Brown, Brianna, Devin, Anastasia, Precious Maria, Iris, Jahrel and Jacob.

Ethel spent her formative years in Stone Mountain and graduated from Long Branch High School in 1976. She went on to work for the DeKalb County School System as a dedicated bus driver, eventually retiring in 2023.

Aside from her career, Ethel had a passion for exercise and spending quality time with her family. She had a zest for life that was infectious to all who knew her.

Unfortunately, Ethel's journey on this earth came to an end due to complications from endometrial cancer. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the entire community she touched throughout her life. Ethel Rattigan (Garner) leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and grace that will never be forgotten.
