Eufracio Sabay, 92, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed on May 20, 2022. Eufracio was born on May 15, 1930. He is survived by his sons Evelio Sabay and wife Florence, Alfeo Sabay and wife Astrid, daughters Blesila Hartom and husband Kirk, Eumelia Johnson and husband Michael, grandsons Jonathan Sabay, Tyler Hartom, and grand daughters Monica Sabay, Kila Hartom Duncan and husband Kyle, Lisa Sabay, Gabriela Herrick and Atheena Louise Labro.
Affectionally known as Opras to family and friends, he lived a full life and as a Professional Civil Engineer served as District Engineer for Leyte and Biliran Bureau of Public Works in the Philippines during the 60's and 70's. Some of his accomplishments include but not limited to leading the construction of roads and bridges, Capitol building, Hospital and numerous Public School buildings.
He later immigrated to the United States with his wife Caridad Sabay and children Evelio, Alfeo, Blesila and Eumelia in the early 70's and worked as Structural Engineer for Kimball Consulting Engineers in Pennsylvania and later served for the Federal Government as Structural Engineer for the Bureau of Interior (BIA) in Albuquerque New Mexico USA. During the 1990's, he served as President of the Filipino-American Association of New Mexico for several years.
