We are saddened to announce the passing of Eugene Hawthorne, born on March 27, 1967, in Greenville, South Carolina, and passed away on October 15, 2025. Eugene was the beloved son of Raymond Hawthorne and Dorothy Washington.

Eugene is survived by his four children: Danielle Nicole Chen (spouse David Chen), Malik Amir Hawthorne (spouse Jasmine Reynolds), Justin Elijah Hawthorne (spouse Maya Rodriguez), and Imani Simone Hawthorne. He also leaves behind two grandchildren.

Eugene attended C.A. Johnson High School, graduating in 1985 before continuing his studies in Electrical Technology at Midlands Technical College.

Throughout his career, Eugene worked as a Facilities Manager. In his free time, he enjoyed fixing cars, watching sports, and cooking on the grill.

On October 15, 2025, Eugene Hawthorne passed away due to Heart Disease. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
